September rolling in...

Well, I got my check for the Big Lots! commercial! Yay for being a paid to do what I love!! Yay for being a working actress!

I had an audition for Vick's Cough and Cold the other day--had to dress as if I was going camping. :) It was interesting. It was for a CD that I'd never been to before. I made sure to send a Thank You card with a postcard inside the same day as the audition, as usual. The audition itself was simply four people, sitting around a table, playing cards. I did fine in the audition, but what I failed to do was to cheat to camera. I simply forgot--I was super tired and had been waiting a little while, so I just didn't think about it. I remember thinking about it before the camera was rolling, but the moment we were filming, I focused so much on what we were doing around the table that I forgot the camera was there--which is not a bad thing to do, I just should have been more mindful of how I was positioned in relation to the camera. I was so annoyed with myself afterward, because I DO know better. However, I had to let that go. So, just something to remember for next time. :)

I'm working to figure out what I can use for reel footage. I may have to ask for footage from people I'd rather not approach, but I do need something I can splice together for now. I want to film some stuff, but I need to get on how to do that without breaking the bank...but while still making sure it looks and sounds excellent. I know what scene I would like to film for dramatic purposes...I just need everything else (i.e. location, camera, sound, lighting, someone to film it, someone to edit it...etc). Oh, and I'd need an actor old enough to pass as my dad.

So, we'll see...in the meantime, I am supposed to meet with my co-creators this weekend about the show. We've all been busy with other things lately, so it's time to refocus. I'm also still bouncing around ideas for the short film I was asked to help write. We had an idea and an outline, but then switched things up because of location concerns.

I'm hoping for more auditions soon! I enjoy auditions and would love to book another commercial before the end of the month!!
